Just heard a whopper of a rumor.. BIG changes coming to Conestoga Mall. Sounds like the north part of the mall is in for some major renovation and south part of the mall will be torn down. As for Old Mill, it looks nothing like the original design. It was proposed to be a group of 5-6 story office buildings in a park like setting. (The south of Dodge part) I'm not sure the north of Dodge part ever had a plan. Ok, now for early memories. Dodge as a 2 lane road west of Westroads, and 2 lanes west of 90th before that.

Long ago, there was a grain mill there. My dad told me that my great grandfather and his brothers used to take grain there for milling from the homestead on 108th and Old Maple. By the time my dad was a kid (80 years ago) it was already mostly long gone, but the stretch of the big Papio was still referred to as the Old Mill. Saw a Billboard along Hwy 275 between Valley and Waterloo that listed their locations and said a new location coming soon. Checked their Web site ahs its GI. Anyone know where?
